Privacy Policy for OCR Text Lens

Scope

This policy describes how the Android application OCR Text Lens handles information when you capture or import images, recognize printed Latin-script text, edit documents, and copy, export, or share text.

Information accessed and stored

The app accesses images you choose through Android’s image picker or capture through an installed camera application. It processes the images and the regions you select to recognize text. It reads image orientation information to display and process images correctly.

The app stores copies of captured or imported images in its private storage on your device. It also stores recognized text, your edits, document titles, document identifiers, dates, and references to source images. A current working draft is retained automatically so that work can be restored when you reopen the app, even if you have not explicitly saved a document.

OCR Text Lens does not require an account or provide cloud synchronization. The inspected application code does not implement developer-operated uploads of your images or documents, advertising, or a separate analytics service. This does not establish the complete data handling of bundled third-party components, as explained below.

How information is used

Images are used to extract text and let you review the source alongside the results. Text and document information are used to support editing, local saving, restoring drafts, searching, organizing pages, copying, exporting, and sharing. Searches of saved documents are performed within the app.

Camera and image access

Camera capture is handled by an installed camera application, which receives temporary access to the capture file. You choose which images to import through the system picker. Imported images and saved source copies are kept in private app storage rather than added to your public photo library by OCR Text Lens. The camera application and any image provider you choose may have their own data handling practices.

On-device recognition and third-party components

OCR Text Lens uses Google ML Kit Text Recognition, including a bundled Latin-script recognition model, to process images on your device. Recognition works offline; the inspected OCR code passes images to the on-device recognizer rather than an application-operated recognition server.

The app includes Google ML Kit and Android/AndroidX components. The supplied information and inspected source do not establish whether the bundled SDK independently transmits technical, diagnostic, or usage information, or its associated retention practices. Therefore, this policy does not promise that every included component makes no network connections. The Android manifest includes Internet permission, although the inspected application code does not implement a document-upload service.

Sharing, exports, and clipboard

When you use Copy, the selected text is placed on Android’s clipboard and becomes subject to the operating system’s clipboard access and retention rules.

When you export a TXT file, the app writes your text to the destination you choose through Android’s document picker. That destination may be managed by another application or a cloud storage provider.

When you share text, the app passes it to the application you select through Android’s share interface. Receiving applications and storage providers handle the information under their own policies. Copies you export or share are outside OCR Text Lens’s private storage and control.

Retention and deletion

Saved documents, source images, and the current draft remain in private app storage until removed or replaced through the app’s operation or cleared through Android. There is no fixed automatic retention period implemented for retained source images.

Deleting a document in the app removes its saved library record. It does not necessarily delete its source images or the current working draft. To remove all information retained in the app’s private storage, clear the app’s storage in Android settings or uninstall the app. Export any text you want to keep beforehand.

Clearing app storage or uninstalling does not delete original images held by other applications, exported files, shared copies, or clipboard contents. Manage those copies through the relevant application, storage provider, or operating system controls.

You may send privacy or deletion questions to contact@azbruktov.online. There is no in-app remote deletion-request mechanism. The inspected app provides no developer-accessible repository of your local documents, so removing those documents requires action on your device. If you email the privacy contact, the email address and information you choose to include are disclosed through email; a retention period for that correspondence has not been established in the supplied information.

Security

The app uses Android’s private application storage for retained images and documents. Its image-sharing file provider is not publicly exported and grants temporary access for camera capture. Android application backup is disabled in the manifest.

The inspected source does not show additional app-level encryption for stored documents. The available evidence does not establish encryption-in-transit practices for any independent SDK traffic. Device protections and the practices of applications you choose for export or sharing also affect security. No method of storage or transfer can guarantee complete security.

Children’s privacy

The supplied information does not specify a target age group or a separate service for children. The same local image and document handling described in this policy applies to anyone using the app. A parent or guardian with questions may contact the developer using the address below.

Policy changes

This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the app, its dependencies, or its data handling. Updated versions should identify any material changes so users can review the practices that apply to their version of OCR Text Lens.
